HSIIDC Scholarships for Excellence

Today manpower is one of the most precious assets of our economy. Up-gradation of professional skills is a vital and ongoing process of human resource development. Haryana State Industrial Development Corporation Limited (HSIIDC), Panchkula, has been the premier institution in leading industrial growth of Haryana. The Corporation has developed more than 30 industrial estates in different parts of the state. It has played the role of an institutional entrepreneur by promoting new companies and has provided a complete range of financial services. By introducing Merchant Banking, Bills Discounting, Equipment Leasing, Forex Advisory Services, Loan Syndication and other Fund and Non-Fund based activities, the Corporation has become a 'ONE STOP FINANCIAL SUPERMARKET'.

Realising the fact that human beings are the primary assets in our changing environment which is more modern and competitive, HSIIDC has now decided to encourage the students of Haryana pursue various professional courses in the areas of Business Administration, Accountancy, Works Accountancy, Company Secretary-ship, Computer Applications and Engineering Courses in Civil, Mechanical, Computer Science, Chemical, Electrical and Textile Engineering. HSIIDC is committed to its unending pursuit of excellence in human resource development for which HSIIDC had introduced a scheme called 'HSIIDC SCHOLARSHIPS FOR EXCELLENCE'.

HSIIDC has set up a trust, which has been registered under the name and style 'HSIIDC FOUNDATION FOR EXCELLENCE 'to manage the scholarship scheme. Other main objectives of the trust are Promotion of Scientific and Professional Education, Rural Development, Health Care, Technological Development and Research including Scientific Research through Universities/ Accredited Institutions, HRD, Promotion of Art, Culture and Crafts, Environment Conservation, Awareness Building, Promotion of sports etc.

BROAD OUTLINES OF THE SCHEME:

Merit -cum- Means Scholarships will be awarded to the students:-

  1. securing at least first division
  2. belonging to Haryana
  3. pursuing regular courses and
  4. annual family income from all sources not exceeding Rs.1,50,000/-

Applications are to be sent to "HSIIDC FOUNDATION FOR EXCELLENCE" for grant of scholarship through head of the institution.

Two scholarships (one each for previous and final year) in MBA and MCA courses of K.U.K. and M.D.U. Rohtak and PGPM course of MDI Gurgaon shall be awarded. Two scholarships i.e. one each for third year and final year in B.E./B.Tech. courses in the disciplines mentioned to cover REC Kurukshetra, CRSEC Murthal and TIT Bhiwani shall be awarded. The scholarship amount is Rs. 750/-per month for 10 months in one academic session. The scheme also covers all Engineering courses in Government run Polytechnics as well as the State Government/Government of India recognized engineering diploma courses (Run by private institutions). Each engineering course is allowed one MERIT-CUM-MEANS Scholarship in the polytechnics or recognized institutes. However, Pharmacy, Library Science, Architecture Assistantship, Hotel Management, Catering & Nutrition and Seismic Engineering courses are not covered under the Scheme. The engineering trade of Draughtsman (Civil/Mechanical), Electrician, Fitter, Turner, Wireman, Wireless Mech-Cum-Operator, Tool and Die Maker are covered for I.T.I. students. The amount of Scholarships for Polytechnics is Rs. 500/- per month and the number of scholarships are 73. There are 133 scholarships to cover I.T.I students and the scholarship amount is Rs. 250/- per month.

HSIIDC Gold Medals along-with certificate of merit and cash award of Rs. 5,000/- are presented to first class first toper students for MBA,MCA courses of K.U. and M.D.U. Rohtak and for PGPM course of MDI Gurgaon . The B.E./B.Tech. courses in the specified disciplines and institutes are also eligible for Gold Medals/Cash awards. Students belonging to Haryana at Indian Institute of Management in Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Calcutta and Lucknow in addition to students completing C.A., ICWA and C.S. in the respective institutes shall also be covered for Gold Medals/Cash awards. In all there are 25 Gold medals along-with cash award.

The last date for receipt of applications is 30th September every Year.
